Redbridge hosted Essex Intermediate League side Canning Town in their final pre-season match.
They started strongly and it took just 3 minutes to take the lead , the imposing figure of Brian Moses won a header from a goal kick which fell to Malaki Toussaint , his deep cross fell to Sipho Mytanda at the far post who at the second time of asking poked home.
The lead was doubled after 19 minutes when a long ball over the top fell to Mytanda who cut inside and although he lost possession the loose ball fell to Brian Moses who stroked the ball into the back of the net.
It was one way traffic and was soon 3-0 as a Canning Town player lost the ball in his own half and was robbed by Calvin Poku who ran down on goal and thumped his effort past the keeper and in off the post.
Redbridge were dominating in all areas and it was no surprise to see the net bulge yet again, Moses bullied a central defender off the ball before squaring to Poku who did well to turn his man and smash home his second goal leaving the goalkeeper no chance.
Just two minutes later it was 5-0 when Moses played a neat one-two with Mytanda and ran onto the though ball before drilling home, the half time whistle soon blew much to the relief of the away side.
Redbridge made several changes in the second period and it somewhat disrupted their free flowing football in the 1st half. Canning Town had a chance to pull back a consolation goal but the Redbridge keeper was on hand to make a great save.
The home side continued to push forward but no further goal arrived until five minutes from the end when substitute Jacob Dingli rounded the keeper and slotted into an empty goal.
Their last two pre season results should hopefully give them confidence as they go into this Saturday’s opening league fixture as we host Tower Hamlets.
