Two injury time goals see Haringey Borough win 3-1 as we are defeated in the FA Trophy.

Redbridge hosted the first of two successive matches against Haringey Borough in the space of just 3 days.

The first being a repeat of last season's FA trophy tie in which the Motormen triumphed at the 1st Round Proper stage where as this time the two sides were facing off in the 1st Round Qualifying.

It was a positive start from the home side as Soumen Nandi tried a curling effort whilst Solomon Ogunwomoju fired wide.

Haringey did eventually get forward buoyed by their large voal away following, a cross in from the left fell kindly to Manny Yeboah but he delayed in shooting allowing Joseph Elliott to get back and make the block.

Nandi was causing problems for the Haringey back line with his pace and trickery winning his side a free kick from a dangerous poisition, up stepped Ronnie Winn who curled the ball around the wall looking for the far corner however keeper Michael Acquah was quickly across his
goal to make the stop.

Haringey then went ahead, a corner was swung in before being partially cleared. It then came back to Jorge Djassi-Sambu who fired home from close range and although he appeared to be in an offside position the goal was allowed to stand.

For all their early domination Redbridge had failed to really test the goal and Haringey took advantage as they went ahead, a corner was swung in but only partially cleared allowoing Yeboah to cross back into the box finding skipper Jorge Djassi-Sambu who got infront of his marker and stabbed home from close range, offside calls from the home side fell on deaf ears as the refereee allowed the goal to stand.

Into the second half and Redbridge pushed for an equaliser from the off. Ogunwomoju rode a couple of challenges before shooting wide before James Barlow headed over from close range after a good cross in from substitute Abs Conten-Thompson.

Haringey then had a series of good opportunities , firstly again from a corner the ball was played in and Sebstian Barford came to punch clear but was beaten to the ball allowing Fred Agyemang to head goalwards however he was to be denied as Ogunwomoju was back defending to clear off the line.

Winn then hestitated in clearing the ball allowing Ebernezer Addo Kufour to take a snap shot which fell just wide off the upright before substitute Joseph Waight then drove a low effort just side of the opposite post. Derek Asamoah then drove forward down the right wing before firing in a cross which just evaded a green shirt at the far post.

Just as Haringey did in the first half Redbridge then took advantage of those failed chances as they found the equaliser, a ball was spread out wide to Ogunwomoju who floated a cross towards the far post finding the run of Conten-Thompson who unmarked volleyed home.

Yeboah then thought he had scored for the away side however the referee pulled play back after seeing the ball kicked out of Barford's grasp who had both hands on the ball.

With the clock ticking down the match appeared to be heading toward a penalty shoot out however Haringey won a free kick in a dangerous area.

The ball was fired in but defelcted straight into the path of Yeboah who kept his composure and fired through a crowded penalty box to score.

With Redbridge now chasing the game keeper Sebastian Barford came forward for a corner but as the ball was cleared up field Waight beat Mekael Wiliams in a foot race before cooly slotting home into an empty net with the keeper knowhere to be seen as Redbridge's trophy dream ended at the first hurdle.
