Redbridge kicked off the 24/25 Isthmian North season at their newly named ground of Techsoc.com Stadum against last season's play off final runners up Brentwood Town.
An early chance straight from kick off for the home side as Tendai Quamina saw his shot palmed away by Melvin Minter for the opening corner of the game .
Brentwood came forward winning a free kick which was whipped in by Benas Vaivada which just evaded everyone before going out for a goal kick.
The same player then saw his well struck effort force a save from Connor Wheatley out for the away side's first corner.
The opening goal shortly arrived , Brentwood won the ball in the midfield through Shad Ngandu and he played a lovely through pass into the path of Daniel Ogunleye and he made no mistake firing past Wheatlry into the corner of the net,
The away side were now on top looking dangerous on the attack, a cross came in from the right looking for Vaivada at the far post who fired over unchallenged.
A rare attempt from the home side as Solomon Ogunwomoju dragged a shot wide of target before a big chance came and went for Brentwood to double their lead as Ngandu fired the wrong side of the upright.
Just before the break a quick fire double put them fully in charge , firstly the Redbridge defenders went to sleep allowing the ball to be cut back into middle where skipper Connor Witherspoon blasted home from close range leaving Wheatley no chance.
Just a minute later and things went from bad to worse as Brentwood broke upfield, ball played into Vaivada who had time to take a touch to set himself before firijng past Wheatley to give his side a convincing lead going into the break
Into the second period and Brentwood from the off went close when Ogunleye got past Joseph Elliott before bearing down on goal but Wheatley stood firm and was able to deny the striker.
Redbridge certainly needed a quick response if they were to get back into the game and they got just that, Rodney Botuli picking the ball up a long way out and firing a powerful effort which flew past the diving Minter.
It was proving to be a much improved showing in this half from the home side with Ogunwomoju turning in a tight space within the box before seeing his effort just trickle wide of the far post.
Substitute Oscar Shelvey-Negus then went close almost turning in a cross from Koby Yeboah however a Brentwood defender just got infront of him to clear the danger
Ogunwomoju then tried a long range curling effort which Minter did well to tip over, certainly one for the cameras.
With the home side on top they then conceded a somewhat harsh penalty, Jack Chawner alleged to have fouled his man in the box and up stepped Mekhi McKenzie sending Wheatley the wrong way to restore their 3 goal advantage.
Rob Harvey went ever so close to a 5th before Redbridge pulled another goal back within injury time as Ogunwomoju headed home from close range.
That was the end of the scoring as full time then duely arrived.
