Redbridge bounced back from FA Trophy with a 2-0 victory over Haringey Borough, goals from Solomon Ogunwomoju and Abs Conten-Thompson(pic)

Monday evening saw part 2 of Redbridge v Haringey Borough after their previous encounter just over 48hrs earlier in the FA Trophy.

Straight from kick off Haringey Borough came forward down the left, a dangerous cross in looking for Fred Agyemang who connected but saw his shot deflected away for a corner.

Redbridge had their first attack, Abs Conten-Thompson cross was missed by Reuben Rabstein in goal almost allowing James Barlow to steal in but he was just unable to connet.

The away side were having most of the early possesion but Redbridge almost went ahead when Conten-Thompson saw his cross cum shot hit the cross bar.

The home side were now starting to find their rhythm , Tendai Quamina made space for himself finding room to get in the shot which was palmed away into the path of Koby Yeboah who could only fire the rebound wide.

The opening goal of the game duely arrived, a lovely ball by Robert Bagnall finding Solomon Ogunwomoju at the far post who calmly placed his header down into the ground and into the far corner of the goal.

A close call for Haringey Borough followed , Agyemang found himself in the box and tried a lobbed finish but Connor Wheatley in goal was quickly out to deny him.

Just before half time Redbridge doubled their lead, Barlow was brought down just outside the box and up stepped Conten-Thompson to fire home the free kick.

The first chance of the second period fell to the visitors, a cross from Manny Yeboah found Joseph Waight who headed over the bar.

Haringey's job then became even more diffcicult after they were reduced to ten men, Scott Mitchell was late in his challenge on Quamina and received his marching orders for a second yellow card.

With the extra man advantage Redbridge took control as Ogunwomoju firstly dragged a shot wide before Joseph Elliott blasted well over from close range.

Redbridge continued to dominate as Barlow saw his effort fly just the wrong side of the upright.

Both sides then turned to the benches and to their credit Haringey finished the match the stronger of the two sides and had plenty of chances to pull a goal back.

Waight firstly forcing a good save out of Wheatley at his near post before the same player headed over, more chances came through substitute Georgios Aresti before skipper Jorge Djassi-Sambu headed straight into the Redbridge keeper's arms from a corner.

Redbridge however held firm and saw the game out picking up their third consecutive league victory and moved up to fourth in the table.
