A chilly Techsoc.com stadium saw the Motormen under new boss Chris Taylor host in form Walthamstow in front of a decent crowd..
The first decent chance came to ex Redbridge player Louie Johnson who met a cross with his looping header which beat Samuel Nwabuko before bouncing down off the cross bar and away to safety.
It was a good start for the away side however from the first Redbridge attack they won a corner which in turn brought the opening goal.
The ball was swung in from Jack Chawner and met in the penalty box by defender Olamiji Ayoola who emphatically despatched from close range in what was a strikers finish.
At the other end the lively Johnson shot early which forced Nwabuko to get down quickly and turn behind for a corner.
Walthamstow then were offered a way back into the match via the spot, a Johnson shot was blocked before being cleared by Solomon Ogunwomoju but in kicking the ball also brought down a player.
It seemed harsh as he was clearing and not aware of the player running in however he and his Redbridge side were let off the hook as skipper Johnville Renee fired over high and wide via the crossbar.
They then thought they were level after Rasheed Salau headed home from a Bilal Sayoud cross however the assistants flag on the nearside was raised for offside.
As the half came to an end Redbridge had two great opportunities to extend their lead, firstly a Joseph Elliott low cross found it's way through a packed area to the feet of Ogunwomoju who got a deft touch which slowly rolled against the post and away .
Fotsing Pitoula Wabo then got free heading past the outrushing Finn Rushton but unable to get the final touch as a Walthamstow defender did extremely well to get back and make a goal line block denying a certain goal.
Into the second period and the away side would have been looking for an immediate reaction however just the opposite happened as they conceded an early second goal.
Malachi Napa played a ball into the path of Tendai Quamina and the striker saw his shot beat Rushton who would have been disappointed being beaten at his near post
Quamina came close to grabbing a third , put through he tried to flick over Rushton who did well to come out quickly and make the stop.
A rare chance this half from Walthamstow as Johnson stole the ball from Jack Chawner before running down on goal but only succeeded in shooting wide.
With the next break of play the home side scored a third, a passing move ended up with Joseph Elliott who fired a low drive which took a deflection beating the dive of Rushton.
Walthamstow to their credit continued to create opportunities, Sayoud trying his luck from distance requiring Nwabuko to tip behind.
Further pressure from the away side however the Redbridge defence stood firm making several blocks as they were able to see the match out and keep a clean sheet.
After five consecutive defeats a much welcome victory as Redbridge tuned the form table upside down
