Redbridge were back in Monday night action as they hosted newly promoted Tilbury at the Techsoc.com stadium
The Motormen had goalkeeper Daniel Purdue making his home debut , the keeper newly signed after both Connor Wheatley and Seb Barford were both out injured, also starting was midfielder Alexandru Bolovan who had signed from Hashtag United.
The away side started on the front foot as Connor Martin headed over from a Dan Trendall cross before the same player blasted over as he was first to react after Purude had pushed away Sam Bantick's free kick.
Tilbury were dominating the possesion and it came as no real suprise to see them go ahead on the half hour mark, Bantick fired a lovely strike into the far corner beating the outstretched dive of Purdue.
It should have been two when Alex Hernandez flashed an effort over the bar after Redbridge had failed to clear their lines.
The half time whistle soon sounded and the home side could count themselves fortunate to go in only one goal behind.
The second period began as the first had ended , Bantick ssaw his effort cleared straight into the path of Oli Spooner who looked certain to score but he could only manage to fire wide of the upright.
Redbridge were then awared a lifeline back into the game, James Barlow was quick to react and as he got himself into the box he was pulled down by keeper David Hughes who could count himself lucky just to be awarded a yellow card.
Up stepped Abs Conten-Thompson who calmly slotted into the corner sending Hughes the wrong way to level up the match.
Tilbury were not behind for long as soon after they found themselves back ahead, poor defending allowed Hernandez in and although he was unable to score he found Bantick who was able to fire home.
The last five minutes saw Redbridge push hard for an equsliser but Tilbury marshalled by ex Redbridge defender Lewis Clark held firm and went away with the 3 points.
